At ØK residents participate in the democratic processes. That means that the residents can take part in deciding some of the things which happen here. It can be renovation of rooms, a new website or new ideas for the outdoor areas.
We have a residents’ council consisting of 9 members and 1 president. The council meets once a month. The meetings are open to all residents, and everybody is welcome to drop by, ask questions or propose something. Everybody can help in starting up projects or bring up new ideas. Two of the council members are also members of the board of the residence hall.
To become a member of both the residents’ council and the board, you must be elected at a residents’ meeting which is held twice a year – in spring and autumn. You will be elected for a two year period.
At the residents’ meetings you can become a member of a committee/group, we discuss large projects which affect all residents, and the budget and accounts for ØK is reviewed. So, if you are interested in knowing what goes on at ØK, you might want to stop by at one of our meetings.
The extraordinary resident meeting is held on the third wednesday in March while the ordinary resident meeting is held on the third wednesday in October.
